Dr. Carey completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Eastern Michigan University. In addition to private practice, she has also worked in college counseling, community mental health and psycho-oncology. Dr. Carey works with adults, adolescents, and couples. Her clinical interests include depression, anxiety, personality disorders, behavioral excesses, mindfulness, sexual orientation, gender, chronic pain/illness, and disability. Although her clinical approach is integrative, Dr. Carey’s interventions often focus on acceptance and self-compassion while empowering clients to make the changes they would like to see in their lives. She also takes great care to ensure that therapy is affirming of all aspects of diversity and identity.
