Gabriel DeLong (he/him/his) focuses on adolescents and young adults and has experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, eating disorders, body image, depression, anxiety, life transitions and adjustments, and stress. He is working on his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Wayne State University after earning his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University. Prior to coming to Cruz Clinic, Gabriel worked in the Georgia and D.C. school systems. He has worked in the LGBTQ+ community providing safe and affirming spaces for youth, and his research focuses on how to provide education to those who work with the LGBTQ+ community, how to support youth, and how to encourage healthy body image ideals. Gabriel operates from an existentialists perspective where meaning is made of everyday life situations. His background in theater and dance shows up often in his therapeutic interventions.
He is bilingual and speaks fluent German.
